Owning a home comes with many responsibilities, and when repairs are needed, the costs can be overwhelming. Fortunately, Tarrant County is offering a Homeowner Repair Program to assist qualifying residents with essential repairs, including electrical, foundation, plumbing, roofing, and weatherization services.
If you live in Tarrant County (outside of Arlington, Fort Worth, or Grand Prairie) and your home is valued under $239,000, you may qualify for this program. This opportunity is especially valuable for those who have owned and lived in their homes for at least one year and meet the additional qualifications.
Who Qualifies?
To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Own and live in your house for at least one (1) year.
- The home cannot be a mobile home, duplex, or located in a flood zone.
- You must hold a clear title to your property (no reverse mortgages), with the title in your name.
- Your property taxes must be paid up to date, and you must be current on your mortgage loan payments.
- Additionally, you must either receive SSDI, be 62 years or older, or have dependent children under 18 living at home.
Income Limits
The program is income-based, with limits on household income depending on the number of people living in the home. For example, a one-person household must have an income below $50,650, while an eight-person household must have an income below $95,450. Full income requirements are outlined in the program flyer.
