Northwest ISD conducted a public hearing regarding the district’s financial efficiency audit for its upcoming Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election. The audit found that Northwest ISD “is maximizing efficient use of staffing resources to serve students while achieving high accountability ratings comparable to its peer districts.”

The audit compared Northwest ISD to peer districts designated by the Texas Education Agency in the areas of academics, finance and operations. A total of 10 peer districts were chosen because of their similarities to Northwest ISD, including neighbors such as Carroll ISD, Denton ISD, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Keller ISD and Lewisville ISD.

Notably, the audit found that Northwest ISD’s per-student revenue of $9,263 is more than $300 below the peer district average of $9,568 and more than $3,500 below the state average of $12,822.
