Two opportunities are coming up this fall for you to learn more about public safety and get involved in helping our community.

👮 Citizens Police Academy

Ever wonder what it’s like behind the scenes at the police department? The Citizens Police Academy (CPA) offers a unique, hands-on look into the daily operations of NRHPD. Participants will learn about patrol procedures, dispatch operations, SWAT, crime scene investigations, and more. CPA meets on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, beginning Aug. 14 through Nov. 13. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Apply today on the CPA webpage or call 817-427-7021 with questions.

🚨 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

If you’re interested in emergency preparedness and want to know how to help your neighbors when disaster strikes, CERT training is for you. This fall’s course runs Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., Aug. 14 through Oct. 9, with two Saturday sessions on Sept. 6 and 13. CERT volunteers are trained to support first responders and assist others during emergencies. It’s a great way to build practical skills and give back to the community. Learn more and sign up on the CERT webpage or call 817-427-6013.
