Keller Independent School District has been honored with the Texas Educational Theatre Association’s (TxETA) Award of Distinction at the Outstanding District level for the 2025–2026 school year. This prestigious award recognizes school districts that make exceptional contributions to raising the standards of theatre education across Texas.

The Award of Distinction highlights Keller ISD’s strong commitment to fostering theatre education through quality productions, robust resources, and advocacy for the arts. To earn this recognition, TxETA evaluated districts on factors such as:

  • Excellence and frequency of theatrical productions
  • Access to a diverse play library and performance spaces
  • Strong community and administrative support for the arts
  • Student engagement in UIL theatre contests and design competitions
  • Integration of theatre technology into classroom learning

“Keller ISD’s Fine Arts program serves as a model for creativity, collaboration, and excellence,” said Travis Springfield, Past President of TxETA. “We applaud their remarkable efforts in promoting theatre arts.”

Keller ISD now joins an elite group of districts recognized statewide for advancing theatre education, thanks to the dedication of its theatre educators, fine arts departments, and supportive community.

A formal presentation of the Award of Distinction will take place during the TxETA TheatreFest Awards Ceremony on October 3, 2025, in Arlington, Texas.
