This year, the average North Richland Hills homeowner will pay approximately $1,420 in property taxes to the City. Nearly half of that amount (49%) goes directly toward funding 24-hour police, fire, and emergency medical services. The remainder supports other services such as street maintenance, traffic control, code enforcement, library programs, parks and recreation, and other city operations. The City of North Richland Hills remains committed to delivering high-quality services while keeping your tax bill as low as possible. The graphic below shows how the average City of NRH property tax bill stacks up against those in other Tarrant County cities.
To help reduce your city property tax bill, NRH offers several exemptions. These include a 20% homestead exemption (the maximum allowed by state law) and an additional $36,000 exemption for senior citizens and disabled residents. A senior/disabled tax freeze is also available to eligible homeowners. Around 30% of NRH homeowners currently benefit from the senior/disabled exemption and freeze. If you are not already taking advantage of these exemptions, please visit the Tarrant Appraisal District website to learn more and apply.
