Intersection improvements help keep drivers moving
Traffic should be flowing more smoothly through the intersection of Johnson and Bourland roads this week after Public Works was able to swap out the traffic signals’ detection hardware and software.
That upgrade comes after multiple failed attempts to repair the signal’s equipment and several weeks of timed cycling while we awaited delivery of the new system. With similar malfunctions being noted at other intersections around town, Public Works also has detection equipment swaps planned for the following intersections before the end of the year:
- Keller Smithfield Road at Bear Creek Parkway near Keller Town Center
- Keller Smithfield Road at Bear Creek Parkway near Fire Station 1
- Rufe Snow Drive at Rapp Road
- Rufe Snow Drive at Shady Grove Road
- Rufe Snow Drive at North Tarrant Parkway
Area residents will also see new equipment installed in the weeks ahead at the intersection of Rufe Snow Drive and Bear Creek Parkway near The Keller Pointe as part of adjustments to its lane assignments and traffic pattern.
Thank you for your patience while we troubleshot these signals and waited for the new equipment. These improvements should make a big difference for our drivers!
