Keller ISD is preparing to welcome middle school students and their families to its annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Expo on Wednesday, November 5, at the Keller Center for Advanced Learning (KCAL). The event is designed to introduce 6th–8th grade students to the wide range of academic and career pathways available within the district, helping families make informed decisions about future coursework and areas of study.

Scheduled as a come-and-go experience, the CTE Expo will open the doors of KCAL for campus tours, hands-on demonstrations, and informational sessions about student-led organizations connected to various program areas. Teachers, program leaders, and current CTE students will be available to answer questions and share insights into daily coursework, required skills, and career opportunities.

Keller ISD currently offers 32 CTE programs, representing fields such as engineering, health sciences, digital media, agriculture, culinary arts, law enforcement, aviation, business, veterinary science, and more. The expo gives students the opportunity to explore these programs up close, helping them determine a pathway aligned with their personal interests, talents, and long-term goals.

In addition to program exploration, families can learn about industry certifications, college-credit opportunities, real-world internships, and hands-on training available through CTE coursework. These pathways serve as early stepping stones to both workforce readiness and postsecondary success.

The district encourages students to attend with parents or guardians to take full advantage of the educational resources available at the event. With growing demand for skilled professionals in technical and trade fields, Keller ISD emphasizes the importance of early preparation and meaningful exposure to potential career tracks.

The CTE Expo is free to attend and open to all Keller ISD 6th–8th grade students and their families.
