The Westlake Town Council adopted the town’s annual operating budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 during its Sept. 15, 2026, meeting.

Council also approved ratifying a property tax revenue increase tied to new construction and increased property values on the tax roll. Although the town projects higher property tax revenue, the tax rate remains flat. The average homeowner is expected to see a $442 decrease on their tax bill.

The council approved levying the ad valorem tax rate for tax year 2026. That rate is $0.021222 lower than this year’s No-New Revenue rate, which the town described as an effective decrease in taxes.

During the meeting, council members recognized former Planning & Zoning commissioners David Ricci and Rachit Gupta for their contributions and service to Westlake.

The council also approved selecting LJA as the professional services consultant for the town’s comprehensive plan.

In another action, council members voted not to renew the agreement with the City of Keller Police Department for future services.
