As Stephanie Martin prepares to take the helm as the new principal of Carroll Middle School, she’s spending her summer recharging with a blend of travel, family time, and much-needed relaxation—setting the stage for a fresh and energized start to the school year.

Before the fall semester begins, Martin and her husband Richard are kicking off the season with a tropical escape to the Dominican Republic, a favorite destination they return to for its serenity and restorative power. “We try to go to the beach every year to relax and de-stress,” Martin shared. “It’s always good for the soul.”

Back home, the Martin family is enjoying a more laid-back pace. Their youngest son, Parker, is splitting his time between sports conditioning camps and poolside afternoons with his mom. Their older children, Alaina and Duston, are planning visits that will bring the family together for cookouts and quality time.

This summer also included a heartfelt farewell to the family’s exchange student, who returned to Spain after a memorable year with the Martins. “He became part of the family,” Martin reflected on the experience.

Even amid the activity, Martin finds time for personal reflection—often spent with a suspense novel in hand by the pool. Later this summer, she and Parker will continue a special family tradition by visiting his Nana in Tyler, Texas.

With her heart full and her summer well spent, Stephanie Martin is poised to bring strong leadership, warmth, and vision to her new role at Carroll Middle School—ready to inspire and support the Dragon community.
