The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) has released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the state’s allocation of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program and the Texas Match Assistance Program (TMAP).
The NOFA makes available more than $3.8 billion in combined federal and state funding to expand broadband infrastructure aimed at providing lasting, reliable and affordable internet service to unserved and underserved locations across the state.
Interested parties will have until May 29 at 2 p.m. CT to submit any questions or request clarifying information about the solicitation. All questions pertaining to the NOFA must be submitted using the BDO’s Question Intake Form before the deadline.
The BDO will respond to these inquiries in a timely fashion and may make any necessary updates to the solicitation, including forthcoming programmatic revisions from the federal government, through the addendum process.
Applications may be submitted on the Texas BEAD portal from June 12 to Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. CT. Applicants not already registered can do so at any time through the close of the application window.
Visit the BDO’s BEAD Program webpage for more information about the application process, guidance materials, reference prices and to sign up for updates about future broadband initiatives.
