Hurst residents are encouraged to plan neighborhood block parties on October 6 for National Night Out, an initiative focused on building safer communities through stronger connections among neighbors.
The event promotes community members getting to know one another and taking an active interest in neighborhood security. It also supports police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and participation in local anti-crime programs.
National Night Out additionally aims to increase awareness of crime and drug prevention efforts. Neighborhoods are encouraged to provide food and organize games for their block parties.
Residents who would like city representatives, including Police, Fire and other city staff, to attend their gatherings can register their events through the City of Hurst website.
National Night Out gives Hurst neighborhoods an opportunity to connect, build relationships and support efforts to promote safety throughout the community.
