On July 11, 2024, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced his agency’s intent to solicit a second round of grant applications for the Bringing Online Opportunities to Texas (BOOT) Program.

The BOOT II program will focus on further closing the digital divide in Texas by supporting broadband infrastructure projects that bring high-speed, reliable internet service to all eligible locations within 24 selected counties across the state. Funded by the federal Capital Projects Fund and state revenue, BOOT II aims to bring reliable broadband service to more than 97,000 locations in the state.

The BOOT II program’s Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was published on the Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) within TXSmartBuy [add url to esbd posting].

After reviewing the NOFA, potential applicants will have until July 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. to submit questions and request clarifying information about the solicitation. The BDO will provide responses in a timely fashion and may make any necessary updates to the solicitation through the addendum process.

All questions pertaining to the NOFA must be submitted to BDO.NOFA@cpa.texas.gov before the deadline.
