Community Spotlight: Friends of the Library

Continuing our theme of #It’sThePeople this year, we’d like to recognize another one of Colleyville’s local community groups: the Colleyville Friends of the Library! For those who might not be familiar with this group, we hope you enjoy learning more about them.

The Friends of the Library was first organized in July 1991 as a nonprofit organization to promote the interest and welfare of the Colleyville Public Library. Their donations to the Library include a popcorn machine, additional play tables, extra iPads for programs and most recently, a new Cricut and Glowforge laser engraver. You might have recently seen them selling ice cream after the Library’s Thursday afternoon programs or selling popcorn and water at the Library’s Summer Reading Finale last month.

If you want to get more involved in the Library community, joining the Friends is a great way to do that! You can become a member for as little as $10 a year. Memberships are welcome to anyone who wishes to support the Library. To learn more, visit www.friendscolleyvillelibrary.org or email friendscolleyvillelibrary@gmail.com.
