District 13 to be sprayed for West Nile Virus
| The City of Dallas has identified mosquito samples that tested positive for West Nile Virus in two areas of District 13. Weather permitting, mosquito control spraying will take place between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, through Wednesday, July 22.Spray Areas:Northaven Road Area (75230): Generally bounded by Forest Lane, Strait Lane, Northgate Circle, and Royal Lane.College Park Area (75229): Generally bounded by Mendenhall Drive, Forum Lane, Strait Lane, and Irvin Simmons Drive.Residents in these areas are encouraged to remain indoors while spraying is underway and avoid contact with the spray. Those who are outdoors should be alert for spray trucks and avoid following them.Residents can help prevent the spread of West Nile Virus by eliminating standing water where mosquitoes breed, using mosquito repellent when outdoors, and reducing outdoor activity during evening and nighttime hours when mosquitoes are most active. |
