DPS Babysitter Safety Class

School is out for the summer, and many young people are looking for ways to earn some extra spending money. Babysitting can be a great opportunity, but it also comes with a lot of responsibility.

Our Babysitter Safety Class is designed to help future babysitters prepare for real-world situations they may encounter while caring for children. Southlake police officers and firefighters will share lessons learned from actual calls for service and discuss why safety, preparation, and good decision-making matter.

Topics include:

• Home Safety

• Water Safety and Drowning Prevention

• Social Media Safety

• Basic First Aid for Teens

• Hands-Only CPR (educational instruction only; no certification card issued)

Eligible participants must be at least 12 years old. Priority registration for Southlake residents is available through June 12, 2026.

Class Dates: July 15 or October 12, 1–3 p.m.
