Echo Hill Drive 12”/10” Sanitary Sewer and Paving Improvements

From Chapman Drive to Hightower Drive

Starting on or within 10 days after September 8, 2025

We are finalizing traffic control plans, coordinating with Birdville/Keller ISD, and working with ATMOS Energy to begin the Group 2 CIP reconstruction project. Message boards will be placed about one week before work begins.

Note: ATMOS Energy will also be in the area on a separate project to replace gas lines along Quail Run Drive and Echo Hill Drive from Chapman Road to Hightower Drive.

Project Timeline

• Construction begins on or within 10 days after September 8, 2025

• Echo Hill Drive work estimated: September–November 2025

• Contractor: Quality Excavation, LLC (Aubrey, TX), awarded by City Council

• Work will occur in phases with road closures changing as needed

Project Scope

The project replaces and rehabilitates aging sanitary sewer lines and reconstructs paving:

• Sanitary sewer rehabilitation (Echo Hill & Quail Run)

• New paving and subgrade improvements

Project Phases

Phase 1 – September to November 2025

• Sanitary sewer by Quality Excavation (Echo Hill Dr: Chapman to Hightower)

• Gas line by ATMOS (Quail Run Dr)

• Closure: Chapman Dr & Echo Hill Dr intersection (partial)

Phase 2 – November 2025 (after Phase 1)

• Sanitary sewer by Quality Excavation (Quail Run Dr: Highcrest to Herschel)

• Gas line by ATMOS (Echo Hill Dr)

• Closure: Quail Run Dr & Highcrest Dr intersection (partial)

Phase 3 – Following Phase 2

• Asphalt paving and subgrade stabilization (Echo Hill & Quail Run)

Phase 4 – April 2026

• Work near Whitley Road Elementary, held until the end of the 2025–26 school year

• Hickory Hill Dr closure planned for summer break

Funding

• Total cost: $4,182,134.53

• Funded by the City of Watauga
