A brief ribbon-cutting event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the reopening of all lanes of Glenview Drive following a major reconstruction project.

All lanes of Glenview Drive, from Boulevard 26 to Flory Street, are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 28, following our major reconstruction project. To celebrate, the City will host a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on the south side of the Glenview/Vance intersection.

We sincerely appreciate the community’s patience and support throughout this significant infrastructure improvement project. The improvements on both Glenview East (Boulevard 26 to Flory Street) and Glenview West (Honey Lane to the city limits) included:

  • Replaced underground utilities
  • Improved drainage systems
  • Reconstruction of the subgrade
  • Brand-new reinforced concrete pavement
  • Sidewalk enhancements for better walkability

This much-needed work was made possible through the City’s voter-approved bond program, with additional support from Tarrant County for the Glenview East segment, funded through their 2021 Transportation Bond Program. We are grateful for their partnership in bringing these improvements to our community.

While the roadway construction is complete, please note that the contractor will continue addressing final punch list items. This may require occasional, temporary lane closures over the next few weeks. For everyone’s safety, we ask drivers to slow down and use extra caution when workers are present.
