The newly reconstructed Iron Horse Boulevard opened late last week in both directions between Rufe Snow Drive and Mid Cities Boulevard.  While the street reconstruction is substantially complete, the contractor is still working on pavement markings, signage and punch list items. To help keep everyone safe, please slow down and drive with caution when workers are present.

This section of roadway was reconstructed as part of the city’s 2020 Street Bond Program and funded in part by a grant from the Economic Development Administration. The project included construction of new underground utilities, storm drains, concrete pavement, medians and sidewalks.

Work continues on the reconstruction of Iron Horse Boulevard west of Rufe Snow Drive. Weather permitting, it looks like they will be able to reopen all traffic lanes of Iron Horse between Rufe Snow and Browning in the next month or so.
