Meet the Precinct 3 Team: Mike Garcia, Precinct Administrator

Mike Garcia serves as the Precinct Administrator for Commissioner Krause, where he is tasked with overseeing all aspects related to Precinct 3. Particularly, Mike focuses on policy-related issues affecting Precinct 3. As a licensed Texas attorney, Mike also provides a legal perspective to Commissioner Krause on items that come before the Commissioner’s Court. Previously, Mike worked in both the Texas House and Senate for nearly two decades. 

Mike grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. He moved to Austin in 2006 and holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and St. Mary’s School of Law. For several years, he has taught Constitutional Law and other legal courses to undergraduates at Concordia University. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and, in his free time, enjoys playing guitar, cooking, participating in various outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife and five children.
