Firefighter/Paramedic JP Adams has been recognized with the City of Southlake’s 2026 Employee Performance Commitment to Excellence Award for his dedication to continuous improvement and service to his team, station and community.

Adams serves in several roles with the Southlake Fire Department, including firefighter/paramedic, EMS Field Training Officer, instructor and SWAT medic. The award recognizes him as an employee who sets high standards for himself while encouraging those around him to do the same.

His commitment to improvement was demonstrated through his work helping design and set up the department’s new ambulance. Adams’ attention to detail contributed to an arrangement intended to support efficiency and patient care.

“I’m always looking for areas where I can improve, and I think that’s a mindset we should all bring to work with us every day,” Adams said.

That approach extends beyond his individual responsibilities. Adams teaches, coaches and mentors fellow firefighters and paramedics, encouraging them to continue developing their skills and improving how they serve the Southlake community.

Whether training a teammate, strengthening a department system or caring for a patient, Adams brings the same focus to each responsibility. His work supports both the Southlake Fire Department and the care it provides to residents.
