The annual Hurst Firefighters Steak Dinner will be held October 10 at Fire Station 1. Tickets are $25, with proceeds supporting equipment and safety resources for Hurst first responders.

The annual Hurst Firefighters Steak Dinner will be held October 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 2100 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.

Presented by the Citizens Fire Academy Alumni, the dinner will be catered by Outback Steak House. Tickets are $25 and are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased online through hcfaaa.betterworld.org or in person at Fire Station 1. In-person sales at the fire station are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tickets will also be available at the Hurst Senior Activities Center, 700 Heritage Circle, during the week of September 21-25.

Proceeds from the event support Hurst first responders through equipment and resources purchased by the Citizens Fire Academy Alumni. Past purchases have included lightweight bunker gear to help firefighters during hot summers, a mini ambulance for assisting people injured at athletic fields, and electric Jaws of Life equipment to reduce the time needed to extricate a victim from a vehicle.

The alumni has also purchased a Fire Safety Training Trailer used each year at all elementary schools in Hurst.

The dinner provides an opportunity for attendees to enjoy a catered steak meal while supporting equipment and safety programs connected to the Hurst Fire Department.
