Some North Richland Hills water customers may notice a cloudy appearance to their water today (Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024). This is merely due to air trapped in the water line. The water remains safe to drink and for all other uses, and continues to comply with state and federal water quality standards.
Air entered the water distribution system while the Trinity River Authority (TRA) made repairs to a 33-inch water main in Colleyville. During the repair process air entered the water main, which gives the water a cloudy or milky white appearance when it is drawn from the tap. After sitting for a few moments, the cloudiness will dissipate as the air bubbles break apart.
The water main, which serves parts of North Richland Hills that are north of Mid-Cities Boulevard, is being placed back into service this morning. Both TRA and the City will be flushing water from the impacted main today to help in removing the air from the water system.
