On Thursday, April 2, 2026, a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will take place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. During this time, local jurisdictions across Texas may test the systems used to notify the public in emergencies. Depending on where you are, you may receive a test alert on your mobile phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens.

The City of North Richland Hills will activate its Everbridge emergency notification system as part of this drill. If you are signed up, you will receive a test text message and/or phone call. If you are not signed up, now is a great time to visit our Emergency Alerts webpage and enroll.

Because multiple jurisdictions may participate, you may receive more than one test alert during the April 2 testing window. This is only a test, and no action is required. Regular testing helps ensure these systems work properly and supports better communication during real emergencies.
