Play Today NRH – Nature Day with a BIOBLITZ!

Saturday, September 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Cross Timbers Park, 7451 Starnes Road

Help us celebrate Nature Right Here in September with a special Play Today in partnership with Parks for Pollinators and the National Parks and Recreation Association!

Saturday, September 6 will be a special Play Today at Cross Timbers Park, 7680 Douglas Lane from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will include a BIOBLITZ! A Special Nature Walk to participate in the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz will leave from the pavilion at 10 a.m.

A BioBlitz is where community members work with park staff to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found in Cross Timbers Park. We will use an app, called iNaturalist, to take pictures of plants, insects and animals to see what wildlife is present in Nature Right Here on this day and provide us with more information about pollinators, which are essential to our ecosystem. We will load our findings up into the app to participate in BioBlitzes all around the country! The morning will include a nature walk and giveaways! Bring your phone to load up our findings. All ages are welcome!
