Statewide Emergency Alert Notification System Test Set for April 2

Heads up, Bedford! The City will conduct a scheduled test of its emergency notification system on Thursday, April 2 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM). 

The test will ONLY include a test of Bedford’s emergency alerts (www.bedfordtx.gov/alert). The City regularly tests its outdoor warning sirens, so the sirens will not be included.

This test will also be conducted by hundreds of our communities across Texas on this day and will help ensure all emergency notification systems are operating properly. They may also be testing their sirens or phone notifications.

This is ONLY A TEST. There is NO EMERGENCY and no action is required.

Because other cities across the state are participating, you may receive more than one test alert on your phone or email. While this may be inconvenient, do NOT opt out of emergency alerts. They are a critical tool for sharing urgent information during real emergencies and can help save lives.
