Motorists should expect daily closures of Browning Drive this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.  Browning will be closed each day in both directions near the golf course, just west of Southern Hills Drive, and will reopen to traffic nightly. The closure is required for worker and motorist safety during sewer line construction in this area. Detour signs will direct motorists to Watauga Road. If you travel on this part of Browning, please plan an alternate route.

June 21, 2024 Post – Iron Horse Blvd

The newly reconstructed Iron Horse Boulevard is now open in both directions between Rufe Snow Drive and Mid Cities Boulevard.

While the street reconstruction is substantially complete, the contractor is still working on pavement markings, signage and punch list items. To help keep everyone safe, please slow down and drive with caution when workers are present.

This section of roadway was reconstructed as part of the city’s 2020 Street Bond Program and funded in part by a grant from the Economic Development Administration. The project included construction of new underground utilities, storm drains, concrete pavement, medians and sidewalks.

Work continues on the reconstruction of Iron Horse Boulevard west of Rufe Snow Drive. Weather permitting, it looks like they will be able to reopen all traffic lanes between Rufe Snow and Browning Drive in the next month or so.

June 20, 2024 Post – Closures for Tabor St., Daley Ave.

Motorists should expect new road closures starting today on Tabor Street and Daley Avenue due to street construction.

Tabor Street @ Lariat Trail Closure: The contractor for the Lariat Trail reconstruction project has begun paving operations on the south end Lariat Trail and will be working their way north. This phase of the project requires the closure of Tabor Street at Lariat.  Detour signs are in place. We anticipate this closure to last for about two months. Text Lariat to 888777 for construction and lane closure updates.

Daley Avenue @ Glenview Closure: The contractor for the Glenview Drive East reconstruction project is closing Daley Avenue just south of Glenview starting today for underground utility construction. This closure will also last for about two months. Additionally,  water will be off this morning for Glenview Garden Apartments, Glenview Square Apartments, and Environmental Infrastructure Solutions at the east corner of Daley and Glenview. Customers have been notified of the temporary service interruption. We expect water service to be restored by midday. Text Glenview to 888777 for construction and lane closure updates.

Both projects are part of the 2020 Street Bond Program

June 10, 2024 Post – Pavement Marking Project

Please slow down and watch for workers replacing pavement markers on Rufe Snow Drive this week. They will start on the south end of the street and work their way north. Drivers will encounter moving lane closures while crews are working, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Focused on improving road visibility and safety, this project includes the installation of new pavement buttons, reflectors, lane lines, directional arrows, etc.  Rufe Snow is the first of three major corridors in NRH that will be refreshed. Crews will also update Mid-Cities Boulevard and North Tarrant Parkway in the coming weeks. The entire project is expected to take about a month to complete, weather permitting.
