For Taylor Wilburn, Birdville High School isn’t just where she graduated—it’s where she found her passion for teaching and coaching. A 2002 Birdville ISD graduate, Taylor now teaches at Birdville High, the same halls where she once walked as a student.
During her time at BHS, she was deeply involved in volleyball, NHS, and PALs, even playing on the school’s first volleyball team to make and win a playoff game. After graduation, she continued her volleyball career at Angelo State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
Taylor spent 10 years coaching volleyball at Birdville High before transitioning into teaching full-time. She credits her former coach, Cynthia Rinehart, for inspiring her journey from student-athlete to educator. Now, as a proud Hawk, she finds joy in telling her students that she once sat in their seats and chose to return—because of her love for Birdville.
Her connection to the school continues to grow, as her own children are now part of the Birdville High feeder pattern. Taylor is excited to share the same amazing community that shaped her with the next generation.
