Third graders are diving deep into Texas history with their latest project, “Deep in the Heart of Texas!” As they explore how the state was formed and how its government, leaders, and communities have evolved over nearly 200 years, they had a special opportunity to hear directly from a local leader.
Southlake Mayor McCaskill visited the students, offering firsthand insight into the role of a city mayor. The students, full of curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and Mayor McCaskill took the time to provide engaging and informative answers, making the lesson both interactive and memorable.
What a fantastic way for young learners to connect classroom lessons with real-world leadership!
