Outdoor Warning Siren work will be taking place June 27 and 28.

North Richland Hills has 10 large Outdoor Warning Sirens (OWS) strategically located throughout the City. We are actively working to replace some of the older sirens with new equipment and poles. This replacement project has allowed us the opportunity to relocate some sirens that have been in certain locations for over 30 years. Relocation allows for a couple of benefits including removing the siren out of homeowner’s yards, as well as improving the audible outdoor coverage of the sirens themselves.

On June 27 and 28, sirens will be relocated from both Onyx Dr. and Circle Dr. to Linda Spurlock Park and Richland Softball Field.

As a reminder, these outdoor warning sirens are designed to warn people outside to go inside and seek additional information. These OWS are not designed to be heard inside your homes. However, if you live immediately next to one, you may hear it inside of your home. The siren system is tested monthly at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.
