We’ve heard questions related to Proposition A for the upcoming North Richland Hills Bond Election and would like to share an update regarding the locations for the proposed new fire stations.
The City has entered into contracts to purchase properties for the future homes of Fire Stations 2 and 3.
The future Fire Station 2 would be located at the southwest corner of Rufe Snow Drive and Victoria Avenue. This site was selected to help improve response times and emergency coverage within the station’s district.
Fire Station 3 would remain at its current location. The city is under contract to purchase the two properties immediately north of the existing station, providing additional space and flexibility for the design and development of a new facility.
“We appreciate those involved in identifying and securing these sites,” said Fire Chief Stan Tinney. “Acquiring these locations would allow us to maintain current service levels and continue providing uninterrupted emergency response.”
The department updates its strategic plan annually and evaluates station and apparatus locations based on call volume, response coverage, and anticipated community growth.
